Research

The research function at the Bank of Finland builds on expertise to support the Bank’s active membership of the Eurosystem. High academic quality and visibility of the Bank's research function enhance its influence within the Eurosystem.

Research seeks to meet high academic standards and to be of practical policy relevance. In addition to publications in refereed international academic journals, active participation in scientific meetings and close cooperation with the academic research community are integral parts of the research objectives and means to screen the quality of the Bank’s research.

Young Economist Best Paper Award

In the XXI International Conference on Money, Banking and Finance on December 10–11, 2012, in Rome, the Young Economist Best Paper Award has been given to Bank of Finland's Research Economist Fabio Verona. The title of his paper is "Inattentiveness: an alternative explanation of investment gulps".
