The Bank of Finland participates in the Economic and Financial Committee and the Economic Policy Committee, both of which fall within the aegis of Ecofin, the EU's Council composed of Economic and Financial Ministers. The work of these committees includes preparatory work for the Ecofin Council and the Ministries of Finances' Eurogroup meetings as well as taking care of other tasks assigned by Ecofin.
The Economic and Financial Committee is comprised of two representatives from each member state, the ECB and the European Commission. One of these members is a representative of the Ministry of Economics and Finance of the respective country and the other from the country's central bank.
The Economic Policy Committee's main concern is with questions related to broad economic policy guidelines.
The Bank of Finland also has representation on several other EU committees, such as the Committee of European Banking Supervisors (CEBS).
