Eurosystem minimum reserves in Finland: reserve base, EUR million

All credit institutions residing in Finland are subject to minimum reserve requirements. These institutions hold reserves, either directly or via an intermediary, in accounts at the Bank of Finland. A credit institution’s reserve base for a given maintenance period is determined by the liabilities on its balance sheet as at the end of the calendar month preceding the start of the maintenance period. The reserve base includes all deposits and debt securities issued. Liabilities vis-à-vis the ECB, euro area central banks, and other credit institutions subject to the minimum reserve requirement are not included in the reserve base. If a credit institution is unable to substantiate the amounts of its own-issue debt securities (maturity at most two years) that are held by the above-mentioned euro area institutions, the credit institution can apply a standardised deduction (30%) to this item. Liabilities included in the reserve base are subject to the reserve ratio specified in the ECB decision in force: http://www.ecb.int/mopo/implement/mr/html/calc.en.html. An institution subject to the minimum reserve requirement is allowed to deduct a uniform lump-sum allowance (EUR 100,000) from its reserve requirement.
