Visitors programme

The Bank of Finland's Monetary Policy and Research department invites applications for research positions in our Visiting Scholars programme. The programme is designed to enhance the Bank's research excellence in the key area of interaction and stability of macro economics and financial markets.

Research projects are conducted at the Monetary Policy and Research department. Visiting researchers have access to the department's data and computer resources and to research assistance. Visiting researchers are expected to participate actively in the research unit's workshops and the unit's research activities in general. Submission of papers to high-level academic journals is strongly encouraged. Initially, the projects undertaken will appear in the Bank's Discussion Paper series.

Candidates should hold a doctoral degree. Qualified candidates should submit a detailed CV together with a copy of recent research papers, and a summary of the suggested research project in English. The research proposal should include the preferred timing of the visit and the requested salary. Applicants who have recently completed their doctorate are encouraged to submit two or more letters of reference evaluating their qualification.

Applications should be sent directly to the Bank's research unit at the address below. Selected candidates may be given an opportunity to hold a seminar at the Bank as a part of their interview.
