    Helsinki, Finlandia Hall

The Ministry of Finance and the Bank of Finland will co-organise an international conference on sustainable finance on 30–31 October at Finlandia Hall.

During its Presidency of the Council of the EU, Finland is stressing the need for the EU to raise its profile as a global leader in climate action. The financial market plays an important role in preventing climate change. The Greener Finance for Sustainable Future conference brings to discussion climate and environment issues that concern the financial market and financial stability and informs the participants of the measures underway.

The conference will include keynotes and panel discussions covering a range of fields concerning sustainable financing. The opening remarks will be given by Minister of Finance Mika Lintilä and Governor of the Bank of Finland Olli Rehn.

The conference is aimed at central bankers, financial supervisors, academics and experts in the field.

See conference programme.

The Greener Finance for Sustainable Future conference will be held in English and it is part of the programme of Finland's Presidency of the Council of the EU. Representatives of the media are welcome to attend. The conference can also be followed through direct video streaming.

Representatives of the media are requested to register for the event no later than on Tuesday, 29 October, at 15.00 via the online form. Registered media representatives will gain access to the event by presenting a press card, a media badge or a mandate issued and signed by the media they represent, and an official identity card.
