The Governing Council of the European Central Bank decided its new monetary policy strategy on 7 July 2021. A reassessment of the strategy was launched in the euro area in January 2020. Issues considered included the definition of price stability, the instruments and effectiveness of monetary policy and questions relating to e.g. environmental sustainability.

Governor Olli Rehn will discuss at a press conference on Friday 9 July at 10.00 in what way the monetary policy strategy has changed and what the changes are designed to achieve. Welcome!
