Bank of Finland to exchange Slovenian tolars in early 2007

The Bank of Finland is to exchange tolar banknotes for euro, free of charge, until 28 February 2007. The upper limit is EUR 1,000. The banknotes will be exchanged at the fixed conversion rate of 239.640 tolars for one euro.
Tolars can be exchanged at the customer service office of the Bank of Finland’s head office in Helsinki, Rauhankatu 19. The customer service office is open on banking days at 10−12 am and 13−15 pm.

In addition to tolar banknotes, the Bank of Finland’s customer service office also redeems markka banknotes and coins. Markka banknotes and the most recent series of markka denominated coins can be redeemed until 29 February 2012. Coins of the earlier series – the silver coloured 1 markka coins and 5 markka coins with the icebreaker motif – may be redeemed until 31 December of 2007. The Bank of Finland does not redeem any older markka coins.
