The Parliamentary Supervisory Council has decided to propose to the Government that Olli Rehn, DPhil, Deputy Governor of the Bank of Finland benominated as Governor of the Bank of Finland commencing 12 July 2018. The decision was reached unanimously.

The nomination will be made by the President of the Republic, based on the recommendation of the Government. The Governor’s term in office is seven years.

A total of 10 applications were submitted for the post.
