The post of Governor of the Bank of Finland will become vacant from 12 July 2018. The Parliamentary Supervisory Council decided at its meeting today to launch an application procedure for filling the vacancy. The Governor's term in office at the Bank of Finland lasts seven years.

The eligibility criteria for the Governor are a higher academic degree appropriate for the position, conversance with the monetary economy or financial operations and proven management skills and management experience.

An announcement regarding the vacancy will be posted on the Bank of Finland website at www.suomenpankki.fi today Friday, 23 March 2018 and in the newspaper Helsingin Sanomat on Sunday, 25 March 2018.

Applications, with CV attached, should be addressed to the Parliamentary Supervisory Council at https://www.suomenpankki.fi/jobopportunities by Wednesday, 11 April 2018, 12 noon, at the latest.

The Parliamentary Supervisory council will forward its proposal for the appointment to the Council of State for consideration. The Council of State will forward its own proposal to the President of the Republic, who will take the final decision on the appointment.
