Jiayi Zhou is a Researcher at the Stockholm International Peace Research Institute (SIPRI) and PhD candidate at Linköping University in Sweden. She has a background in both international development and security, with writings in academic journals such Journal of Slavic Military Studies, Journal of Peacebuilding and Development, Third World Quarterly, as well as more policy-oriented work. She has been researching for a number of years the topic of Chinese agricultural investment in the Russian Far East. Her current project is at the intersection of international political economy and geopolitics, taking a comparative angle on Russia, China, and their policies in relation to food trade and food security.
