Natalya Naumenko is an Assistant Professor at George Mason University. Prior to Mason, she was a postdoctoral fellow at the Political Theory Center at Brown University. She received a Ph.D. in economics from Northwestern University in 2018. She holds a 2017 Sokoloff Dissertation Fellowship from the Economic History Association. Natalya studies the causes and consequences of the 1933 famine that killed six to eight million people in the Soviet Union. Her work is supported by the Balzan Foundation and by Economic History Center at Northwestern University. Her research interests concentrate on economic history and political economy.
