The former Governor of the Bank of Finland, Rolf Kullberg, died today as a result of a serious and protracted illness. He was born on 3 October 1930.

Rolf Kullberg was appointed to the board of the Bank of Finland in 1974, and acted as the Bank's Governor in 1983–1992. Prior to joining the Bank of Finland, Mr Kullberg worked for many years with the Union Bank of Finland, including a period as member of the board. In 1971–1972 he was attached to the Ministry of Finance as Head of the Economics Department.
