Veli-Matti Lumiala

Veli-Matti Lumiala MSc (Eng) is Head of the Bank of Finland's Administration Department. The Administration department supplies personnel, accounting, language, security, property and other internal services to the Bank of Finland and the Financial Supervisory Authority. The department is also responsible for controlling the Bank’s balance sheet risks and the investment risks of the Bank’s financial assets and for coordinating operational risk management.

Previously, Veli-Matti Lumiala headed units at the Bank of Finland, with his responsibilities covering such areas as security, real estate and cash infrastructure. He was Head of the Infrastructure and Systems Division of the Cash Department until the end of 2014. Prior to transferring to the Bank of Finland in 1999, he worked with TietoEnator and ICL Data.
