Investment funds

The data collection framework covers the needs of the Bank of Finland, Financial Supervision Authority and Statistics Finland. The reporting obligation concerns investment funds and special investment funds. Data on money market funds are also collected within the SIRA data collection framework, although money market funds are classified in statistics in the MFI sector. The Bank of Finland is responsible for data collection and publication of statistics.

The collection of statistical data is based on the following regulations

  • Regulation concerning statistics on the assets and liabilities of investment funds (recast ECB/2024/17)
  • Regulation concerning statistics on holdings of securities (ECB/2012/24, as amended by ECB/2015/18 and ECB/2016/22, and ECB/2018/7)
  • Guideline on monetary and financial statistics (ECB/2014/15, as amended by ECB/2014/43 and ECB/2015/44, repealed by ECB/2021/16)
  • Guideline on statistical information to be reported on financial intermediaries other than monetary financial institutions (ECB/2021/12)
  • Regulation on infringement procedures in cases of non-compliance with statistical reporting requirements and repealing Decision ECB/2010/10 (ECB/2022/31)
