Former Member of the Board of the Bank of Finland Seppo Lindblom has died
Seppo Lindblom, former Member of the Board of the Bank of Finland, passed away on 15 September 2026. He was born on 9 August 1935.
Seppo Lindblom, DSocSc, served at the Bank of Finland as a researcher from 1960 to 1968, as a director from 1974 to 1982 and as a Member of the Board from 1982 until 1987. He was also an acting Member of the Board in the period 1979–1981, and he took a leave of absence from the Board in 1983–1987 to serve as Minister of Trade and Industry.
The Bank of Finland expresses its sorrow at the passing of its long-serving Board member and will lower the national flag to half mast on 17 September 2026.
