The Bank of Finland collects statistical data from non-financial, financial and pension corporations, and the central government on their securities-based assets and liabilities. The SAVE data collection covers significant security investors whose data is not captured in other Bank of Finland data collections on the financial sector.

The data can also be used in the Bank of Finland for carrying out ESCB-related tasks, such as monetary policy and macroprudential supervision. The Financial Supervisory Authority may also use data on entities supervised by it.
