Bank of Finland Data Balance Sheet 2025 published

The Data Balance Sheet is a review of the Bank of Finland’s data and technology. The latest publication contains 22 articles and a summary of the Data Balance Sheet’s key figures. The publication has been produced in Finnish and English. The Data Balance Sheet complements the Annual Report, which was published on 13 March, from the perspective of information management themes.

The publication is divided into five sections:

  • introduction,
  • production and utilisation of data,
  • information management, information resources and information flows,
  • information security and data protection, and
  • monitoring and key figures.

The Data Balance Sheet contains information on the expansion of the use of artificial intelligence in public authority and expert work, and on the status of current development projects. Volume data from content management, online communications and statistical systems have been collected for the key figures.

“AI is the new normal in our work. We should all look at our own processes and think how AI can help with what we currently do, and also what we could do with AI that we previously considered too arduous or even impossible,” says Tuomas Välimäki, Member of the Board of the Bank of Finland.
