Päivi Heikkinen

​Päivi Heikkinen MSc (Econ.) has served as Head of the Payments System Department of the Bank of Finland since 1 January 2019. Before her appointment she was Head of Cash Department, Head of the Oversight of Market Infrastructure division of the Financial Stability and Statistics Department. She has also been a senior economist at the same department and at the European Central Bank. Before joining the Bank of Finland she held several expert positions in the banking sector. Päivi Heikkinen is also a member of the ESCB's Banknote Committee (BANCO) and the Market Infrastructure and Payments Committee (MIPC).
