The objective of the Bank of Finland is to support and enhance financial literacy together with other stakeholders in society.

The Bank of Finland Museum (Snellmaninkatu 2, Helsinki) serves as the Bank’s financial literacy hub. Guided tours and other events held in the Museum promote visitors’ literacy in financial and economic matters.

The Bank of Finland, the Ministry of Justice and other key authorities agreed that the Bank of Finland would prepare a proposal for a national strategy to promote financial literacy (see Financial literacy project). The Bank of Finland submitted the strategy proposal to the Ministry of Justice in January 2021. The Ministry of Justice will start implementing the strategy from the beginning of 2022.

The Bank of Finland will continue as a key player in the implementation of the financial literacy strategy. The establishment of a financial literacy hub at the Bank of Finland Museum forms a central element of this.  The financial literacy hub will open in January 2022.
