Krisztina Orban works on questions related to Growth and Development. She uses microdata, which is often newly collected, and methods from industrial organization. Her focus is understanding responses of a variety of agents in the economy to large-scale state interventions or their removal, and the aggregate consequences thereof. In particular, in one theme of her research she focuses on post-communist economies' adjustment to the removal of state ntervention.Krisztina graduated with a PhD in Economics from the University of Chicago in June 2019. She is currently a postdoctoral researcher at the NBER until July 2021, at which point she will join Monash University as an Assistant Professor of Economics.
