Payments

The Eurosystem has revised the compilation of payments statistics, which are now covered by the related ECB Regulation. In Finland, data on payments are collected by the Bank of Finland. The reporting population comprises payment service providers operating in Finland.

Payments statistics

Payments statistics provide information on the use of different payment services and instruments in Finland. This section contains information on, for example, the number and value of retail payment transactions, such as credit transfers, card payments, direct debits and cash withdrawals and deposits. The statistics cover payment statistics data within the scope of the Eurosystem. The data are collected annually from payment service providers operating in Finland.

Cash statistics

The Bank of Finland collects statistical data on the use and processing of cash. This section presents summary results of the annual consumer survey on the use of cash and payment cards and provides statistics on counterfeit money.
