Organized by the Bank of Finland Institute for Emerging Economies (BOFIT) and Renmin University of China.
After the pandemic the whole world economy looks different from the status quo ex ante. This conference aims to assess China’s position in the evolving global economy, against the background of China’s own internal developments.
Specifically, the conference aims to evaluate China's developments along different dimensions, including macroeconomic developments as well as structural and financial market reforms. It provides a platform for disseminating current research on China’s macro economy and financial markets, trade disputes, integration with the global financial markets, and the related implications for the global economy. Possible topics include, but are not limited to, the following:
- Developments in China’s economy
- Developments in domestic financial markets
- China’s structural and financial market reforms
- China’s real estate sector and debt developments
- The renminbi policy and global monetary system
- Trade frictions and effects of potential ‘decoupling’
The submission deadline has exceeded. Thank you to all applicants! Authors of accepted papers will be notified by March 17, 2023. Final versions of the accepted papers will be posted on the conference website.
Accepted presenters may apply for financial support to cover economy class airfare and local accommodation expenses. A selection of papers will be published as a special issue of Economic and Political Studies.
