XX European System of Central Banks Emerging Markets Workshop

For the past twenty years the Bank of Finland Institute for Emerging Economies (BOFIT) and other members of the European System of Central Banks (ESCB) have alternated in organizing workshops devoted to economic research on various emerging markets. In 2023 the XX ESCB Emerging Markets Workshop was organized at the Bank of Finland facility in Saariselkä, Finnish Lapland, just as the first workshop of the series was organized in 2003.

KEYNOTE SPEAKER: MENZIE CHINN (University of Wisconsin – Madison)

TOPICS: We welcome paper proposals from all member banks of the ESCB and other central banks. Papers should deal with a topic relevant to the macroeconomic or financial issues in emerging market countries, their economic policies and/or integration with the global economy. Possible topics include but are not limited to the following:

• deglobalization and economic decoupling
• economic effects of measures to boost economic security
• emerging markets’ adaptation to higher interest rates globally
